Women Who’ve Chosen To Age Naturally Are Sharing How They Avoid Falling Into The Comparison Trap In The Age Of Cosmetic Surgery

8.

“Reminding myself that comparison is the thief of joy. I work in hospice, so I feel I have a different view of aging. I’m only 37, and I think I look pretty good for my age, although I have natural lines around my eyes and forehead. My 6-year-old asked me just the other day, ‘Mom, what are those lines from when you smile?’ I told her that’s from years of smiling! (It’s the truth!) And why would I ever want her to think something was wrong with having lines from that?

“Growing older is a privilege. And honestly, the long-term effects still kind of freak me out. Also, everything goes in and out of style. I’m sure ‘smile lines’ will come back in eventually, and people will be using makeup to add lines to their face! Kind of kidding, but I wouldn’t be shocked! Lol.”
