As a Gen Z’er, I spend a LOT of time daydreaming about what my future house will look like. I guess it’s part of me manifesting that I actually WILL own a house one day, because right now…it’s not lookin’ too good.
And because a huge chunk of us are still living with our parents (yes, even in our mid-to-late 20s) or renting apartments we obviously didn’t design ourselves, we’ve got lots of time to critique the home design trends in our houses, as well as the ones we visit. We’ve likely given this more thought than any other generation did at our age.
Like, for example, perhaps you absolutely hate neutral colour palettes, and are simply tired of seeing that “millennial gray” colour in every single house you walk into.
Maybe you begin to squirm at the very idea of carpeting, and swear it makes every room look ancient and vaguely dirty, no matter how new the room is.
Or perhaps your biggest home design gripe is the same as mine: my parents’ house is “open concept,” and I absolutely cannot stand it. Sure, it may be pretty, but the functionality is not there.
Whatever it is, we wanna hear it! Younger people, tell me: what’s one popular home design trend you hate seeing? Fill out this quick anonymous form to share your answer, or leave it in the comments below!
