On Jan. 19, the Summer House stars announced their split following over four years of marriage in a message posted to their Instagram stories, stating, “After much reflection, we have mutually and amicably decided to part ways as a couple,” they wrote. “We share this with a heavy heart and kindly ask for your grace and support while we focus on our personal growth and healing. It feels ironic to ask for privacy during this time since we’ve always tried to be open and honest about our relationship, but your kindness and respect will go a long way as we try to navigate our next chapter.”
A week later, the Summer House cast made a public appearance for the show’s upcoming season premiere, where Kyle stated, “I don’t think anything can kind of prepare you for a big public breakup, but I think that more important than anything is just making sure that Amanda is good, and it’s just been amazing having her support, because it is not easy. We put it all out there — the good, the bad, and the ugly, so we just appreciate everyone acknowledging what we’re going through, and it ain’t easy.”
In an interview with Marie Claire published on March 3, Amanda opened up about how she was feeling post-breakup, saying, “Honestly, I feel like I’m on cloud nine. Unstoppable.” She also discussed what led to their split, stating, “We were both struggling with the decision to call it quits, and that’s where I faded away and lost myself a bit. But it just got to a point where I knew I had given the relationship everything I had, and there was no fight left in me. We looked at each other like, ‘This isn’t going to go anywhere.’”
