“He stepped up in all the best ways. I experienced a traumatic birth — a planned C-section due to complete placenta previa that resulted in a hemorrhage — which contributed to postpartum depression that lasted almost a year. After witnessing that medical trauma, he refused to let me get an IUD placed. He said enough had already been done to my body and volunteered to get a vasectomy when the baby was two months old. We both knew we were ‘one and done,’ and to him the procedure was a small sacrifice compared with pregnancy and childbirth. As the months passed, he became even more patient with my mood swings and postpartum rage and encouraged me to seek mental health support. He even gifted me semi-private personal training, which helped rebuild my confidence and heal the diastasis recti caused by pregnancy.”
“His unwavering support, protection of my mental health, and the way he has become an amazing father to our daughter helped move my postpartum depression into a much better place.
He makes me feel like the most beautiful woman in any room, and two and a half years into motherhood, he still treats me like a queen.”
