Sooooo, Attorney General Pam Bondi is crashing out in a pretty major way.
People have been generally unhappy with the way Bondi and the rest of Donald Trump’s administration have handled the release of the Epstein files.
Any attempts to round up every single wild moment from the hearing would probably just yield a full transcript. So, instead, here are nine moments from the hearing that are getting LOTS of attention, for what you’ll see are probably obvious reasons:
1.
Here, Rep. Becca Balint asks Bondi if Donald Trump knew of US Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick’s alleged ties to Jeffrey Epstein before he was appointed to his position in Trump’s cabinet.
Balint refers to Bondi as “secretary,” to which Bondi responds, “I’m attorney general,” and Balint says, “My apologies, I couldn’t tell.”
3.
Rep. Ted Lieu accused Bondi of lying under oath, after she claimed there’s “no evidence that Donald Trump has committed a crime” in response to Lieu’s question asking if underage girls were ever present at any Epstein party Trump attended. Apparently, she did noooot like Lieu’s claim one bit. She yelled at him, saying, “Don’t you ever accuse me of a crime!”
4.
Here, she straight-up doesn’t answer Rep. Jerry Nadler’s question about how many of Epstein’s co-conspirators Bondi has indicted. (According to Nadler, the answer is zero.)
5.
After talking about Ghislaine Maxwell, who Bondi says, “hopefully will die in prison,” she asks Rep. Deborah Ross why she isn’t talking about Iryna Zarutska, a Ukrainian woman stabbed last year. Ross says she has been talking about it, and then said they would move the conversation back to Bondi, who responded, “I bet we are.” Then, Ross said, “Yes, of course! You’re here to testify! That’s what the whole point of this endeavor is!”
6.
Rep. Jared Moskowitz asks Bondi what “oppo” research is written about him in the Moskowitz section of Bondi’s binder. Then, he whips out a whiteboard and says he wants to hear what’s in her “burn book,” and give it a grade, like the Olympics. Bondi responded, saying, “Nothing is funny about mocking the Bible and holding up a Trump bible.”
7.
Bondi appeared to interrupt Rep. Daniel Goldman’s questioning, and he responded, “I’m talking, quiet!” Bondi then said, “Don’t yell at me!”
8.
Epstein survivors in the room were asked to raise their hands if they had been ignored by the DOJ, and a group of women stood and did so.
Images show that Bondi did not turn around to look at the survivors.
9.
And, finally, Rep. Jasmine Crockett told Bondi she was bad at her job straight to her face. Crocket said, “You will be remembered as one of the worst attorney generals in history. An attorney general who has prioritized obstruction of justice, corruption over the law, fealty to the president over loyalty to the constitution.”
