“What are starting salaries you’ve heard of for bootcamp grads?”
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Short answer: I’ve heard starting salaries from $50,000 all the way to $100,000+
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Long answer: Bootcamp grads employed in cities like NYC and San Francisco are going to earn more than say, a bootcamp grad in a midwestern city like Cleveland, because the cost of living is higher and, usually, the more competitive the market, the better the pay.

But here are some more specific numbers I’ve heard by region:
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
📍East coast: 75k – 90K
Multiple people on Instagram said they started out in the 80k range. When they went on to their second job 5-12 months later or got promoted, many of them saw an increase of 15-30k. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
📍Midwest: 50k – 80k
Typically lower living costs here which is reflected in the salary range. Most people I’ve talked to are in that 50k-60k range and work for large corporations or the government. Cities like Chicago will attract numbers at the higher end of the range.

📍West coast: 65k – 100k
There are cities like San Francisco and Seattle that come in on the higher part of the range (and even over it) but, on average, it seems the further down the coast, the lower the starting salary.

📍Southern US:
I didn’t have anythting for the south so I can’t speak to that 🤷🏽‍♀️ but it seems like Austin is a pretty good tech hub! 👀

Of course, there are other facts at play when it comes to your starting salary ranging from what kind of company you work for, the technologies you use, and etc. Remember your first job is the one that gets you in the door, it doesn’t dictate how much you’ll be making 1, 5, 10+ years from now ✨ And thank you to those who shared their starting salaries with me so I could make this post, you know who you are 😉
