What’s it like being married to the guy who went from comparing Trump to “Hitler” to being his Vice President? Well, Usha Vance is shedding some light on the subject.
The second lady has been at the heart of divorce rumors in recent weeks, after being spotted without her wedding ring (her reps issued a statement saying she’d forgotten it). Still, her name has been brought up more than once in the news lately, whether it’s JD saying he wishes she’d convert to Christianity or in the context of…that hug of his with Erika Kirk.
In a new interview with USA Today, Usha alluded to her previously stated long-term “dream” to return to Ohio and resume her legal career. Of the past year, she said, “There are things that I miss and things that I’m excited to have moved on from.”
As for rumors on their relationship, she said, “I find that one of the really curious things about this life is that people really like to read the tea leaves, and there’s a kind of an industry building stories about everything that they can imagine.”
She further said that she and JD “do find [the speculation] kind of funny,” and said of her ring, “Sometimes I’m wearing it and sometimes I’ve just been to the gym and showered and I’m not wearing it…I’d rather just sort of live in my marriage and in the real world and less in kind of the fever dreams that surround it. So I mean, it is kind of a family joke.”
As for whether she wants the gig of first lady, she replied, “I like the job that I have right now.”
