“The Government just fucked my family’s livelihood. Literally destroyed it overnight with the Hemp provision,” they wrote, referencing the hemp restrictions that were included in last week’s government funding bill at the last minute, thanks to Senator Mitch McConnell.
According to CNBC, the provision “outlaws products containing more than 0.4 milligrams of total THC per container” — effectively banning gummies, vapes, and other popular products that were previously legalized through a loophole in the 2018 Farm Bill. McConnell reportedly wanted the loophole closed ahead of his 2026 retirement.
