This Elementary School's Fundraiser Prizes Have Parents Absolutely Fuming

However, people like u/doolittlesy remember it differently. “I remember when I was a kid, they had a teacher show off the mini skateboard prize, which was like half the size of a normal skateboard. I was so hyped to get it, and it was one of the first prizes. When prizes were issued, it was the shittiest tech deck knockoff piece of plastic garbage. I have never felt so betrayed.”

“TBH, at least from my experience, if you take off the rose colored glasses, the prizes sucked then too. I remember a magazine sale we had to do where if you sold x amount, you got a ‘Weeble.’ It was like a puffball glued onto some felt feet or some shit that clipped onto your pencil. We were 8th graders. They had us in the cafeteria for some huge assembly about it. I threw all that shit in the trash on the way out. Yanno, civilized countries just fund schools properly, but not here. Nah. We gotta tie school funding to property values so we keep all the poor and minorities down.”

“Man, the rewards were never up to par with the money raised. But, when I was a kid, I could at least win a cheap Walmart bike or something. This is just sad.”
