Ever since an ABC spokesperson confirmed that the network was pulling Jimmy Kimmel’s show off the air in the wake of comments he made about Charlie Kirk’s killing, the conversation has been nonstop. Many celebrities have since shown support for Jimmy and have spoken out against what’s widely believed to be an act of blatant government censorship.
Now, an employee of the show has spoken to People about what’s allegedly going on behind the scenes when it comes to the talks aimed at bringing Jimmy Kimmel Live back on the air — and, unsurprisingly, it sounds like things are pretty tense to say the least.
The source tells the publication that the remaining staff “don’t know anything” about the fate of the show and are “all on standby” as they await news of what’s happening with, well, their jobs.
“Jimmy and the producers have had to keep this close to the vest,” the staffer claimed, alleging that “there’s been nothing” when it comes to official comms from the network itself and that the decision was handed down “shortly before” the show’s Sept. 17 episode was set to tape. “It was very quick and very shocking. It was a big shock to everybody,” they add.
“We’re just hoping that we’re gonna hear something soon and hopefully it’s good,” the staffer also said. “I’m not ready to admit that it’s over.”
One thing’s for sure — as soon as there’s further developments in this story, we’ll let you know the scoop.
