There’s nothing quite like the few weeks we all become wildly invested in the Olympics. I’m cheering for athletes I’m hearing about for the first time, yelling “clean!” at my TV, and watching people willingly hurl themselves down a mountain at 95 miles per hour.
But more importantly, ever since the viral chocolate muffins at the Paris 2024 games, I’m tuning into the behind-the-scenes food reviews.
There’s apparently chatter around the Olympic village this year that the chocolate lava cakes are the new chocolate muffins. But I’m here to talk about another chocolaty treat dominating the dining hall: the Nutella keg.
Yes, it’s a colossal tub of Nutella complete with a pump for dispensing. American snowboarder Maddie Mastro originally shared the genius invention on TikTok, gaining two million views.
Turns out, she’s not alone in her Nutella keg obsession. Her teammate, Hahna Norman, another American snowboarder, also gave a sneak peek into the breakfast of champs.
Let’s take a closer look at this beauty:
Safe to say, we’re all jealous and thinking of ways we normies can get our hands on the Nutella keg.
Even Henrik Christiansen, our favorite muffin man, is in awe.
And everyone is convinced the Americans will sneak out with suitcases of Nutella.
Upon further investigation (reading TikTok comments), it seems these giant tubs are everywhere in Italy. McDonald’s, hotel buffets, you name it, and there’s probably a Nutella keg there.
Giant Nutellas everywhere?! God, I’ve seen what you do for others.
Also, a moment of silence for us in the US, having to endure the alleged lesser-quality American Nutella.
Now, you’re probably thinking: How can I have a Nutella keg in my kitchen? The good news is that these massive jars are available online; the bad news is that they seem to be available only for commercial purposes, and you need to submit an application. These things are coveted.
But it’s okay, I’m figuring out a loophole.
What do you think of the Olympic Nutella keg?
