As you probably know, Ted Cruz sometimes treats bad Texas weather like a vacation alert.
So, it was kind of like, OF COURSE, when he was spotted on a plane right before this past weekend’s winter storm.
He later released a statement to the Daily Beast about it, “Senator Cruz is currently on pre-planned work travel that was scheduled weeks in advance. He will be back in Texas before the storm is projected to hit.”
That didn’t stop the jokes!
So, Ted has since tried to “clap back,” if that’s what you want to call it.
He posted this when he was back from his trip:
Yeah, it didn’t go over super well.
One person simply said, “You’re not funny.”
Another person made fun of his shirt:
And this person hit ’em with the, “Dude, if I were you, I wouldn’t make jokes about you and Texas storms for like ever.”
Ted tried to make another joke about a picture of Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear, claiming that he was on vacation in Europe:
Governor Beshear saw his response and said, “Sorry for missing this earlier, @tedcruz. Been busy leading my state’s emergency response all day. From Kentucky.”
As this person said, “Ted just got stuffed in a locker…”
Maybe comedy isn’t for you, bud!
