Let’s talk “airport theory.”
For years, conventional wisdom (and everyone’s dad) believed you had to arrive at the airport at least two hours before your flight.
Well, some people are trying to change that. The “airport theory” is a viral TikTok trend where people challenge that traditional “two hours before your flight” wisdom by arriving at the airport 15–20 minutes before their flight.
Well, the TSA has shared their thoughts about it.
First, they shared their definition:
Then they shared how they felt:
“Our theory… You’re more than likely missing your flight, if you arrive 15-20 minutes before it departs.”
People in the comments seem to be in agreement with them.
“I have to be at the gate an hour before so I can anxiously pee three times before boarding,” this person joked.
Another person called the waiting at the airport their favorite part of flying.
And lastly, the best comment of all: “My dad shows up the day before.”
