It happened in December at the premiere of Sarah’s show Dexter: Original Sin, when she was asked about Jennifer’s possible involvement in the sequel to the 1997 movie, which originally starred them as teenagers Julie (Jennifer) and Helen (Sarah).
Sarah looked immediately annoyed before shrugging and telling the reporter, “I have nothing to do with that.”
Her short, awkward, and seemingly “disgusted” response led many viewers to speculate that there was secretly a feud between them, and more questions were only raised this week after they failed to take pictures together at the sequel’s premiere.
And eventually, Sarah addressed the speculation on Instagram.
“For everyone asking – I never got to see @jenniferlovehewitt, who is fantastic in the movie,” Sarah wrote underneath photos with much of the cast, including Madelyn Cline, Chase Sui Wonders, and Freddie Prinze Jr. “I was inside with my kids when the big carpet happened. And unfortunately JLH didn’t come to the after party.”
Sarah added, “If you have ever been to one of these it’s crazy. I sadly didn’t get pics with most of the cast. But that doesn’t change how amazing I think they all are. Unfortunately some things happen only in real life and not online.”
Well, there you have it! Nothing to see here, folks — but you can see the two of them on screens this Friday when I Know What You Did Last Summer hits theaters.
