Rebel Wilson‘s got a new movie coming out this Friday, June 20. It’s called Bride Hard. (It’s not to be confused, of course, with Bridesmaids — or Bachelorette, another wedding-themed movie she’s also starred in.)
Unlike Bridesmaids and Bachelorette, Bride Hard leans more into action territory — and as Rebel recently revealed in an interview with Access Hollywood, she experienced way more action than she bargained for during filming.
In the interview, Rebel revealed that she experienced a pretty scary mishap that resulted in her suffering a “massive injury.” Yikes
“In a fight scene, a gun accidentally got whacked across my face,” she said. “It was just a freak accident, and my nose got split open, so I left set. It was really my last night of shooting. I was like, ‘How unlucky can I be?’”
Rebel explained that the incident occurred while filming the movie’s “last fight sequence,” and that there was a “pool of blood” resulting from her injury. Ouch.
“I was freaking out,” she recalled. “They take an ambulance and they have to call a plastic surgeon, because if they didn’t, I would have been permanently disfigured. So we got the plastic surgeon, they did all the stitches, and you can’t tell now, really, you can’t tell.”
Good lord. Glad she’s OK!
