According to Ray J, the pair had planned to go public with their relationship before her death in Los Angeles’ Beverly Hilton hotel — which happened while he was performing a concert in San Diego.
Despite that, Ray J claimed during the podcast interview that he’s heard rumors that he was somehow involved with Whitney’s death “since the beginning.” “That’s the biggest cap I’ve ever heard,” he said while addressing the allegation.
Ray J went on to explain why he’d never addressed the rumors until now. “When you know the truth, why do you have to jump out there and try to tell it to everybody?” he said. “I didn’t care about what people were saying.”
“I was nowhere to be found and I hate talking about it because I have so much love for her,” he went on to say. “I’ve never seen her in that state. So to make me that person when I wasn’t even there and then to put murderer on top of that, it’s fucked up.”
