Relationships are complicated and fullll of ups and downs. Often, it can be pretty difficult to gauge whether it’s best to let someone go or to keep holding on.
Specifically, I always wonder what happens when people give their partner a second chance to improve on a particular wrongdoing. Do second chances *actually* work out? Today, we’re gonna find out — with your help, of course.
So if you’ve ever given a partner (or now-ex) a second chance to change in a relationship, I wanna know: how did it go? Did they end up improving, or did they simply disappoint you again? Could you build your trust again? And at the end of the day, are you glad you gave them that second chance, or was it kind of a waste of time?
For example, maybe you found out your partner cheated on you, and they swore they’d never do it again, so you gave them another shot to prove themself.
Or maybe you caught them in a major lie about their finances, and you believed them when they told you they wouldn’t do it again.
Perhaps you were simply getting fed-up about a particular trait of theirs — like being too messy, too loud, or too insensitive — and gave them one last shot to improve.
Maybe you did break things off with your partner, but they came back to you a year later swearing they’d changed, so you agreed to take them back.
