middli / Via youtube.com OK, this one is super cool because Redditor u/Lonelyland put in the WORK to break down the dings that the severed elevator makes in Season 2. Here's what they noticed:"Severed transitions in the elevator are marked by two distinct transition tones (G and C♯). Transition tones are heard as long as someone is transitioning to or from the elevator. An additional elevator tone (B♭) is often used to announce general elevator activity unrelated to transitioning. A variant tone (B♮) could be used to indicate something unusual had happened in the elevator. In Season 2, episode 1, a B♭ tone is played to announce Dylan and Irving’s arrival, but a B♮ is played to announce Helly. In Season 2, episode 2, transition tones can be heard when Mark, Dylan, and Irving ride the elevator down, but are suspiciously absent for Helena."You can read more about the theory here.
With all the new theories popping up with the start of Season 2, creator/writer/executive producer Dan Erickson recently revealed that none of the Season 2 theories he’s seen so far are actually correct:
“I love all of them and some of them are kooky, but the show is kooky, so it makes sense. I would not say that I’ve seen anybody get it totally right. We are trying to lay down the seeds of where it’s ultimately going, and I do think that people notice that … But I don’t think that I’ve seen anything where I’m like, ‘Oh God, they got it. Time to leave the country and change my name.'”
