“I am a crew lead at a factory for about 40 employees on each crew. I am not even joking, only about half cannot do basic math, even with a calculator. I am convinced several of them cannot read. It is from 20 to 60-year-olds, so not bashing any generation. Yesterday I had to help someone end a job that made 20 devices. They had to book their materials; each device uses 1, 2, or 3 of certain other components. They could not grasp the concept that it would be 20, 40, or 60 components depending on how many of each went into the device.”
