Has this ever been you when people discuss a popular movie:
1.
“Honestly, The Fast and the Furious franchise. Fun for what it is, but I never understood the hype or emotional attachment people have to it.”
3.
“Oppenheimer (2023). It felt like a creatively edited Wikipedia entry. I didn’t hate it or anything, but idk if it was as good as the hype.”
4.
“The English Patient (1996).”
6.
“I am a biker. Easy Rider (1969) is supposed to be like our anthem. To me, it’s not a biker movie. It’s a hippie, druggy movie, with bikes.”
7.
“Probably Titanic (1997). Three hours, and I was rooting for the iceberg just to wrap things up.”
8.
“Twilight (2008). I’ve never even watched the other three movies.”
11.
“2001: A Space Odyssey (1968) jumped out at me immediately, and not for lack of trying either. I’ve tried to watch it several times, hoping I’d end up liking it finally.”
12.
“Avatar (2009). I love sci-fi. I love cool ass mechs. I love explodey stuff. But the ‘I’ve come to understand you people and protect you all’ just rubs me the wrong way.”
13.
“Blair Witch Project (1999). I’m big into horror and was even more so when the movie came out. I’d heard so much praise and how scary it was…It’s boring, and everyone is annoying. I wish they’d all died earlier so we’d be rid of them and the movie would be over.”
14.
“I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again…The Babadook (2014).”
15.
“Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (2019) felt like I was forced to sit through a circle jerk with Quentin and his buddies.”
16.
“Napoleon Dynamite (2004). I usually find humor pretty easy to get into, but I could not force a laugh at any point in that movie. I still feel mildly defective when I think of it.”
17.
“K-pop Demon Hunters (2025).”
19.
“Lost in Translation (2003).”
20.
“The 50 Shades movies. The books were horrible, but I thought the movies might be better. I was wrong.”
21.
“Gravity (2013). I found it empty (lol).”
22.
“I did not get what’s so great about Moulin Rouge! (2001).”
23.
“Top Gun (1986). Not the gritty war movie you expected. It’s just a ridiculous, camped-up chick flick with a cast of grinning douchebags. Very Tom Cruise.”
24.
“The Breakfast Club (1985).”
25.
“Maybe I’m wrong, but: Inception (2010).”
26.
“Interstellar (2014). Is it a good film? Yeah, it’s fine… It’s nowhere near as ‘BEST FILM EVER!’ that people claim it is, though. The first half is good, the rest is just silly.”
27.
“Pretty Woman (1990).”
29.
“The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975).”
31.
“I did not care for The Godfather (1972). It’s a meme, but it’s also my answer.”
32.
“Everything Everywhere All at Once (2022). It was just a bit too random, disjointed and all over the place for me. Not a big fan of alternative universes in stories.”
33.
And finally, “Superman (2025). It was extremely cheesy.”
