“Drinking a gallon of water a day is super hyped, yet not needed for everyone.”
“We’re not gas tanks that need to be constantly topped off with water. And while hydration is important, we don’t need to be fully hydrated at all times.
My take is that constantly drinking water is so popular because it’s easy to do. It’s the easiest ‘healthy’ habit you can adopt. You can sit for HOURS, but as long as you keep sipping that water, you can pretend you’re doing a good thing. Then you can also say, ‘I’m so hydrated, I pee constantly, I’m so healthy!’ You can be perfectly healthy even if your pee isn’t always clear.
We have a sense of thirst. Drink when you’re thirsty, and you’ll be healthy.”
