Oscar voting ended on Tuesday.
In case you didn’t know, the awards are decided by a voting body of a little less than 10,000 people.
How do they vote? Well, it’s not some fancy mail-in scroll thing*.
They don’t have voting machines.
There’s no big ol’ voting box.
And, yeah, there isn’t even a ritual sacrifice illiminati type thing.
They actually vote online:
People are genuinely surprised by the simplicity of it all.
“Genuinely thought it was like parliament,” one person said.
Another person asked, “Why did I think all the voters have to be in the same place like they’re taking the SAT or something.”
And, personally, I’m with this person who said, “Nickelodeon teen choice awards ass voting system.”
A bunch of people are talking about hacking it.
And then there are Conclave jokes.
Lots and lots of Conclave jokes.
Anyway, I guess this is efficient, but I def would like a touch of ritual slaughter or something.
