Look, we all know THAT dress from 2015 is white and gold (obviously), and since then, there have been plenty of disputes about visual illusions over the years. But everyone seems to be in agreement about the latest viral optical illusion: there’s a hiker in this photo that’s practically invisible.
An old photo from Reddit has gone viral on Twitter (now known as X), shared with the caption, “my brain refuses to believe there are four ppl in this picture.”
Were you able to see all four people at first glance? Okay, let’s start by taking a closer look at the bottles:
The hand holding the fourth bottle is wearing a navy blue glove:
And if we keep zooming out, you’ll notice that that navy blue-gloved hand is attached to an arm.
Now, here’s that fourth arm, fully outlined for your viewing pleasure:
Here’s the original image again, and I’m betting you probably can’t unsee that fourth arm now:
People were completely shocked that they were unable to see the person’s arm. “I can’t believe camouflage actually fooled me I feel like a big stupid moose,” said one person.
“turns out I might be a deer,” said another.
“Ok cause like why is this playing tricks on me.”
“MF got a legitimate invisibility cloak.”
“I used to think camouflage was a gimmick….after being humbled today…i would like to announce that i was wrong.”
And finally, “Bambi’s mother never stood a chance.”
Now, I have to know: were you able to find the arm before I pointed it out? Let us know in the comments.
