The UT Original Tamagotchi, which pays homage to the device and package design of the first Tamagotchi released in 1996, is a “GEN 1” version with the original Tamagotchi program released in Western markets. In recent years, in addition to its original fun as a virtual toy pet, Tamagotchi has evolved as a fashion item, often attached to a bag as a charm.
