Congratulations are in order for Normani as the former Fifth Harmony singer just got engaged!
He said he popped the question on Wednesday, March 12, proposing with a beautiful diamond ring that Normani could be seen wearing during the conference. Sharing how it all went down, he said, “I started sending her flowers with a story and then the last letter on the flower was ‘Will you marry me?’ And she said yes.”
He added that they later celebrated their engagement with their families in Texas, where Normani notably grew up. “My family and her family was in Houston,” DK shared. “It was my sister’s spring break, and I just thought about getting the whole family together for a big kumbaya and joining our families with the ring.”
The ring features a glittering, oval-shaped diamond set on a sparkling band. Jeweler Laura Taylor told Cosmopolitan it’s likely “in the 6 to 8 carat range” and features either “a pavé or channel-set design.” “This is where diamonds are set into the band for added brilliance without taking attention away from the center stone,” Laura explained. Ciara also couldn’t have been happier for Normani, though it didn’t exactly come as a surprise. “Russell Wilson and I knew when we introed yall 3yrs ago,” Ciara said on TikTok over a screenshot of them on a video call with the happy couple. “love was truly in the air! Now yall gon be booed up forever!! This was the best news! @DK Metcalf @Normani we love yall so much!”
