Marjorie Taylor Greene claimed that her former Republican politician pals used to speak quite differently about President Donald Trump.
Last month, the once-MAGA-loyalist Georgia Republican announced that she was resigning from the House of Representatives. This followed backlash from the President over her support of the bill demanding the release of files related to Jeffrey Epstein.
In her new 60 Minutes interview, Greene was asked how much of Republicans’ support of Trump was motivated by fear — especially of death threats. MTG agreed with the sentiment and said, “I think they’re terrified to step out of line and get a nasty Truth Social post on them.”
As for whether Republicans in Congress would speak differently about Trump “behind the scenes,” she replied, “Yes. It would shock people.”
“I watch many of my colleagues go from making fun of him, making fun of how he talks, making fun of me constantly for supporting him, to, when he won the primary in 2024, they all started…kissing his ass and decided to put on a MAGA hat for the first time,” she continued.
When asked whether her change of heart was earnest or part of a “shrewd political calculation” to run for another office, MTG denied that she would be running for senator, governor, or president. “[People] won’t believe me,” she said. “Surprise, surprise. I’m not your politician with a whole itinerary of plans or political ambitions.”
