That means it’s the time of year when we discuss how the McCallisters weren’t actually middle-class, and no one could afford that home.
The time of year when we talk about how Catherine O’Hara was only 36 when she played Kevin’s mom.
Anddd the time of year when we talk about how Kevin McAllister is a deranged, sadistic maniac with murder on his mind.
Anyway, Macaulay Culkin was asked about a Home Alone sequel during his “A Nostalgic Night with Macaulay Culkin” tour, and he offered up a really interesting concept.
Variety reported, “I kind of had this idea. I’m either a widower or a divorcee. I’m raising a kid and all that stuff. I’m working really hard, and I’m not really paying enough attention, and the kid is kind of getting miffed at me, and then I get locked out. [Kevin’s son] won’t let me in… and he’s the one setting traps for me.”
“The house is some sort of metaphor for our relationship,” and the ultimate goal is to “get let back into son’s heart’ kind of deal.”
The response online has been overwhelmingly positive, especialllllllly for a sequel.
“You can tell he’s been thinking about this for years and it would actually work,” someone wrote.
A bunch of people are, like, “Approved. No notes.”
And pretty much everyone is saying, “Greenlight this immediately.”
