It’s no secret that Ke Huy Quan is one of Hollywood’s most wholesome and beloved actors. From his early work in The Goonies and Indiana Jones to his incredible comeback story with Everything Everywhere All at Once, he’s one of those actors you just can’t help but fall in love with.
And now, he’s starring in Love Hurts, which makes his first major leading-man role. The movie follows Marvin Gable (Quan), a realtor who has left the world of being a hitman behind. But, one day, he receives a mysterious envelope from Rose (Ariana DeBose), a former partner-in-crime that he had left for dead.
So, to celebrate his new movie, we had Ke Huy Quan swing by to answer a ton of questions while playing with puppies. It was a big day for us, Ke, and the puppies, TBH.
We talked about Love Hurts, particularly how he got to reunite onscreen with Sean Astin from The Goonies.
He revealed what props he’s taken from sets over the years, which include Data’s jacket from The Goonies and how Kevin Feige and Marvel gifted him a TemPad from Loki after he won his Oscar.
Ke also looked back on his big Oscar win for Everything Everywhere All at Once and said what he remembers most from that evening: “When I held that Oscar, it went from a 40-year dream and it became a reality. I never thought that that one little decision that I made when I was 49 years old to become an actor again that I would get to star alongside all of these wonderful actors and be in this movie that everybody would love.”
And we also asked about his now famous selfies, and he revealed a pretty great story about how he surprised Ana de Armas by asking her for a selfie very early on.
And be sure to check out his new movie, Love Hurts, which is in theaters now!
Also all of these puppies are available for adoption at Wags and Walks.
