Trump announced 25% tariffs on EU goods like steel and aluminum and threatened to implement further tariffs if they retaliate with counter-tariffs. Canada has already announced 25% retaliatory tariffs on metals, computers, sports equipment, and other products worth $20 billion. The last time Trump imposed aluminum and steel tariffs in 2018, US steel prices rose 5% the following month, and aluminum rose 10%.
