Because I’ve loved books since before I could speak (yes, you read that right), I’ve always been a grammar nerd. Although this has shaped me into an A+ internet writer, if I do say so myself, it also means that grammar errors irk me to my very core. They always have, and they likely always will.
But it’s quite shocking how little a lot of people know about grammar. Maybe it’s the internet, or maybe it’s simply generational, but it seems like people nowadays care less about writing proper sentences — especially when it comes to punctuation. For example, nobody uses semicolons anymore, and I feel like a grandma when I use one in a text.
