Welcome back! I already did a Part 1 of this idioms quiz — inspired by my husband’s deep love of words and turns of phrase. Turns out, some of you love idioms just as much as he does. It was a hit. So I’m coming in hot with Part 2. Quick refresher for anyone new here: Idioms are phrases that mean something different from their literal words. For example: “raining cats and dogs.” As much as I believe in the kitten distribution system, pets aren’t literally falling from clouds above — it just means it’s raining a lot. Ya know?

How’d you do? Leave your score in the comments — and while you’re at it, share an idiom you’ve been saying wrong your whole life. You know, like Michael Scott in The Office, saying, “Cut off your nose to Spider-face.” As if the last word were a superhero, not spite your face.
