I Went To Rome For The First Time And Here's What Made It So Unforgettable

His style blends astronomy, history, and mythology, and each piece felt like a story in itself. It’s the largest permanent collection of his work anywhere, and it makes the hotel feel like a curated cultural space, not just a place to sleep.

Plus it being in the heart of Rome, made walking to hotspots like the Trevi Fountain so much easier.

After that, it all started with a tour of the city on a 1940s vintage Vespa. Riding through Rome’s streets, passing historical buildings and sunlit piazzas it felt like something out of a classic film.

Then I visited the Pantheon, where the sense of history hits you like a wave. The tour guide pointed out a statue of Queen Margherita of Savoy and told us the story that she may have inspired the classic cheese and tomato pizza after a clever pizzaiolo made one using the colours of the Italian flag with red tomato, white mozzarella and green basil.

Afterwards, I got back on my Vespa one last time and got off at the Vatican Museum where I joined a private tour of the Vatican Museums. The atmosphere was especially moving because the Pope had just passed away. It was surreal to be there during such a historic moment. The next day, I went to a fun pasta-making workshop where I channeled my inner Nara Smith and made fresh pasta from scratch and tiramisu taught by a chef from the InRome Cooking school.
