“Weirdly, that fact messed me up because I’m great at gaslighting myself.

I had always parked on the correct side of the pump. Then I learned about the arrow. One day shortly after, I couldn’t remember if the arrow pointed to where the pump should be or where I should be in relation to the pump. Inexplicably, it was a 50/50 shot whether I would get it right for the next five or so times. Eventually, I just settled on ignoring the picture and remembering the last time I successfully got gas.

It’s one of the dumbest, weirdest things my brain has ever had the displeasure of doing to me.”
