Hey hey! I’m Nora, and I write the Screen Time newsletter, BuzzFeed’s weekly roundup of all the TV and movie news you need to know, the shows and movies you need to be watching right now, and much more. Here’s what the newsletter is covering this week:
Nobody Wants This returns with Season 2, and just like the first season of this massive Netflix hit, these new episodes continue to prove why Adam Brody and Kristen Bell have some of the best chemistry on TV right now. Season 2 picks up where Season 1 left off, with Joanne (Bell) and Noah (Brody) navigating their new relationship as they continue to take steps forward, such as hosting a dinner party together and contemplating the idea of moving in together. But will Joanne not being Jewish continue to be a hurdle that Noah won’t be able to get over?
Also, this time around, Leighton Meester, Seth Rogen, Kate Berlant, and Arian Moayed guest star. I mean, Adam and Leighton?! Plus, a Succession reunion between Arian and Justine Lupe?! Say less. Nobody Wants This continues to be a perfect binge-watch, reminding us that sometimes it’s nice to sit down and watch two people try to navigate their love story.
The latest Hollywood biopic, which also feels like Oscar bait, Deliver Me from Nowhere follows the legendary Bruce Springsteen (Jeremy Allen White) as he conceives and records his 1982 album, Nebraska, which marked a notable departure from the rock ‘n’ roll sound he had been known for up until that point. The film charts what was going on in Bruce’s life at the time, as well as looks back at his upbringing in New Jersey.
Since this only covers the Nebraska album, it felt a little thin for a biopic; however, if you’re a die-hard Springsteen fan, you’re not going to want to miss this. White is also captivating as the legend, and it’s incredible to watch him embody such a larger-than-life stage performer. His singing as Springsteen is worth the price of admission, especially when he records “Born in the U.S.A.”
Mckenna Grace and Mason Thames might be my new Tom Holland and Zendaya. While the duo hasn’t publicly confirmed their rumored relationship, they are so cute on the press tour for Regretting You, their upcoming rom-com. So, to celebrate their new movie, we had them play with puppies while answering questions, and it was one of the most wholesome and adorable things you’ll watch today. They have such great chemistry offscreen, and it made me love them even more. They discuss filming the movie, share their celebrity crushes, and much more. This week was Wicked Night on Dancing with the Stars, and it’s officially the halfway point of the season. While there were several incredible dances last night, my personal favorites were: Robert Irwin and Witney Carson’s jazz to “Dancing Through Life,” Elaine Hendrix and Alan Bersten’s contemporary to “Defying Gravity,” and Jordan Chiles and Ezra Sosa’s rumba to “For Good,” which earned three 10s. Honestly, Elaine and Robert also deserved some 10s, too. In the end, Scott Hoying was eliminated this week, much to the shock of Andy Richter, LOL.
Here are the funniest (and best) reactions to this week’s DWTS episode:
Who is your favorite actor and what is your favorite movie or show of theirs?
My favorite actor is Elizabeth Olsen, and my favorite project of hers is probably WandaVision. I genuinely believe WandaVision is the best thing the MCU has made. Period. I think what she did on that show was sensational, and it should’ve earned her an Emmy Award. Outside of the MCU, I would say my favorite movie of Lizzie’s is Ingrid Goes West with Aubrey Plaza. It’s such a fun movie, and the two of them are great together in it.
Well, that’s all I’ve got for this week’s edition of Screen Time. Come back every week to get more TV and movie recommendations, find out which celebs we’re working with, and so much more!
