This post is so Canadian-coded you’ll practically smell maple syrup and hear a distant “sorry” while reading it. (Because sorry, this is written by a BuzzFeed Canada employee.) But yes, a beloved Canadian actor from a beloved Canadian show just popped up in a movie filmed in — yup, you guessed it — beloved Canada, and the entire nation is collectively losing its polite little mind. (I’ve never said “Canada” so many times in a paragraph. I feel like a certain somebody talking about tariffs.)
That beloved show? Degrassi. That beloved Canadian star? Lauren Collins (AKA Paige). And the sneaky role she landed? The Hunter’s Wife in Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein — filmed right here in Toronto.
And while some people caught on right away, others (like me) totally missed it. I must say…that oversized cloak and massive hat were doing their job too well. But yes, that’s our very own Paige! And the internet couldn’t be happier.
