Every Phase Of Job Hunting I Went Through And Survived As A Recent Graduate

The Unsaid Phases Of Post-Grad Life That I Was Not Aware Of

It’s June and I can bet that recent graduates are going through multiple phases of “What am I doing with life?” right about now.

And honestly, as I made my way through it, I realized that there are certain phases of life after graduation — which are like the rites of passage for anyone new to this adulthood thing.

Since I lived it, I’m here to help. These are the phases everyone goes through after graduation—read it carefully so you can be prepared!

1.

Thinking you will enjoy a few weeks off — but all you really do is sleep.

2.

Thinking LinkedIn will provide you your dream job.

3.

You might fall into despair without even trying, and decide to rot away in your own rabbit hole.

4.

After the realization that time is running out, you start sending 100 applications a day.

5.

Learning that you will face more rejections here than in your dating life…

6.

When I finally got an interview, but it was not just one interview…

7.

You will wonder if you should get another degree, because college was just that fun…

8.

You might also lose hope and wish you had generational wealth.

9.

You will eventually make peace with what life has to offer.

It’s tough looking for a job in this economy. So, prepare for it in advance. All I can say is: good luck, newbie!
