Macaulay Culkin has revealed that his and Brenda Song’s two children, 2-year-old Carson and 4-year-old Dakota, have no idea that their parents are famous, and he is keen to keep this “illusion” for as long as possible.
Despite this, Macaulay, 44, admitted that he does put The Suite Life of Zack & Cody on for his children when Brenda isn’t around, with Brenda famously playing London Tipton in the hit Disney series from the age of 15.
And in a seriously wholesome turn of events, Mac said that Dakota is low-key in awe of London — totally unaware that she is his mom.
During his recent appearance on Hot Ones, the Home Alone actor said: “My kids have no idea that me and Brenda are famous.”
“They see mama on TV, when she’s not around, I put on Suite Life, and you know what Dak said? He goes: ‘Someday I want to grow up and marry a girl just as pretty as London Tipton.’”
“But they are thoroughly unimpressed that we’re on TV and stuff like that,” Macaulay then revealed. “I’m not intending to raise a nepo baby.”
And Macaulay went on to say that after a lifetime of fame, he is embracing only being known as his children’s dad when he does the school run.
Reflecting on the innocence of kids, he shared: “It’s like I’ve been famous like virtually my entire life. I take my kids to school and the other kids go: ‘That’s Dak and Carson’s dad.’ And I’m dad-famous there, and I want to keep that up, even if it’s just temporary, even it’s just an illusion.”
“I’ve never felt more famous, like more complete famous, than that,” he concluded. “I try to, at the very least, keep up the illusion.”
