Sometimes boomers get so worked up, before you know it…
And u/Reddit_wasmy_idea knows that some of us have secret boomer tendencies that creep in during trying times. So, when they recently asked people to share them, a flood of responses came in. Here are some moments when the younger generations can actually relate to the boomers:
In a world of touch screens, u/neonmystery misses something you can actually push. “I miss buttons,” they said.
Robotic phone calls are deeply loathed. u/capngabbers said, “I. WANT. TO. TALK. TO. AN. AGENT!!!!!! DON’T. WANT. YOUR. SHITTY. AI. CUSTOMER. SUPPORT!!!!!!! 😤😤😤😤😤😤”
On the other hand, one anonymous person has a different request: “Don’t make me have an account for everything.”
To add onto that, u/brad-corp said, “And websites being like, ‘Hey, can we send you notifications?’ How about, ‘Fuck no.’ I want a scented candle, not texts telling me it’s available in a new flavor every three weeks forever.”
People still want tangible things, like u/trotskythinksnotsky, who said, “Please don’t make me scan a QR code for the menu.”
“Give me my fucking earphone jack on my phone back, you greedy bastards. I DON’T WANT BLUETOOTH ONES,” is a big one, according to u/NachoMemer.
Speaking of earphones, u/RandomUser5453 said, “Stop with loud phones in public spaces. (Phone calls on speaker, video calls without earphones, listening to music, watching videos, etc.) Earphones are not that expensive!”
Another big complaint was behind the wheel. “Stop being nice when driving. When I’m at an intersection and you are going straight, and I’m turning left, don’t break and sit there and flash your lights at me and give me the right of way when you have it. Follow the established rules of the road because when you start doing shit people aren’t expecting, you cause accidents. You got to the four-way stop sign first? Drive. Don’t sit there and look at me, while someone else pulls up and now were all stopping and starting and risking a collision becsuse you wanted to be nice. Just fucking drive and follow the rules,” exclaimed u/RainWild4613.
And finally, one that seems pretty universal was said by an anonymous person: “Kids shouldn’t have access to social media until they are at least in high school.”
