After His Chair-Throwing Arrest, Morgan Wallen Said It’s “Definitely” For The Best That He Can't Go To Bars

Morgan Wallen Hasn’t Been To A Bar Since Chair-Throwing Arrest

Morgan Wallen is one of the best-known performers in the country right now. But, with all that fame comes more eyes on his mistakes.

As you may know, Morgan has navigated some public controversies over the years, including his past use of a racial slur, breaking COVID-19 protocols, and multiple arrests. Most recently, he was arrested for disorderly conduct in Nashville, Tennessee.

On April 8, 2024, Morgan was arrested on three counts of felony reckless endangerment and one count of misdemeanor disorderly conduct after throwing a chair from the rooftop of a six-story bar and restaurant building located on Broadway in downtown Nashville. The chair apparently landed three feet away from two officers standing outside the building. Surveillance footage was said to show the singer throwing the chair and laughing afterward.

In December 2024, Morgan pleaded guilty to the chair-throwing and was sentenced to seven days of incarceration at a DUI education center, as well as two years of supervised probation. At the time, his attorney said in a statement to People: “Mr. Wallen has cooperated fully with authorities throughout these last eight months, directly communicating and apologizing to all involved. Mr. Wallen remains committed to making a positive impact through his music and foundation.”

So, almost an entire year has passed since his 2024 arrest, and while briefly discussing the incident during the April 2 episode of Theo Von’s This Past Weekend podcast, Morgan revealed that he’s not stepped foot in a bar since.

The topic arose when Theo asked his guest about how he deals with fame and speculated that it’s probably a lot of “hassle” for him to go to bars without being approached. In response, however, Morgan said this inconvenience is for the best.

“It’s definitely the best thing for me. I mean, if you’re using a bar as a specific example, that’s definitely, that’s definitely, the best thing for me,” he said, laughing. “I ain’t been in a bar since the last time I was in a bar that everybody knows about… The most public time I was in a bar? That’s the last time I was in a bar.”

Speaking more about his “weird” feelings about fame, he said: “It’s not ideal to go everywhere, and even if you don’t get bothered, you were on edge the whole time because you thought you might. There’s things that you just don’t do. There’s just things you don’t do anymore.”

As you may know, Morgan’s latest comments come after he was widely criticized for breaking Saturday Night Live tradition by abruptly walking off stage during the closing credits last weekend. He followed up his sudden exit by posting an IG story of himself about to board a private plane with the caption, “Get me to God’s country,” which prompted even further backlash and confusion among fans and SNL stars alike.
