Following the attack, people immediately started demanding answers. When asked about the strike by reporters, Secretary of State Marco Rubio questioned whether it was a US missile before saying, “Well, clearly, the United States would not deliberately target a school.”
As a reporter pressed further, Rubio said, “It’d be very tragic [if children were killed], but I can’t speak to the details behind it because I’m not – I just don’t have it.”
Meanwhile, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said the US is “investigating” the incident.
