Is it just me, or is America getting worse than ever? Between Venezuela, ICE violence, increasing income inequality, and the straight-up lies being fed to us from the government, it’s a tough time to live in America.
Don’t believe me? Here are some photos that demonstrate how dystopian the US has become.
1.
No shade to the nonprofit providing these headsets, but it’s messed up to me that our incarceration problem is so bad that we have to use VR headsets just so people can get a feel for the outside world.
2.
No kid should have to go through this.
4.
This shouldn’t have to exist.
5.
We are traumatizing kindergarteners.
6.
AI has its uses, but does anyone else think that a LOT of people are using it in pretty messed-up ways?
7.
I will never forgive conservatives for politicizing vaccines.
8.
I’m glad this man was freed, but this shouldn’t be a heartwarming story — or something that happened at all.
9.
The never-ending propaganda for hustle culture and overwork in this country is disgusting.
10.
Cool, I’m sure this isn’t bad for society at all!
11.
Of course, the US is leading the charge.
12.
At this rate, there will be no nature left for our children to enjoy.
13.
I still can’t believe official government accounts are posting bigoted memes like this. What has happened to this country?
14.
You can’t even watch the news these days without your attention being monetized.
15.
You really can’t escape advertising anywhere.
16.
And the ads themselves are pretty disturbing. America’s dystopian-ness is literally being used to promote brands and sell products.
17.
People are literally advertising at their own weddings just to foot the bill.
18.
This is a horrifying idea.
19.
Remember when kids wanted to be astronauts, vets, writers, and artists? Now this is what they want to be.
20.
AI has truly taken over.
21.
As has gambling culture. Can we admit it’s messed up to advertise gambling, especially on horrific future events, like President Trump literally violating the 22nd Amendment?
22.
Not that it’s unlikely at this point.
23.
In more horrific news from the past few weeks, the US is withdrawing from dozens of organizations that unite countries and focus on peace, collaboration, and climate change.
24.
A one-day hospital stay with a single procedure should NOT be a quarter of a million dollars.
25.
It’s indicative of the lack of value our country puts on human life (versus the value it puts on cold, hard cash) that this bill even exists.
26.
It’s all such a scam. Without insurance, the total cost is $1.5 million, but with it, it’s only $300k? Make it make sense.
27.
Insurance is a joke in this country.
28.
The weird god-like worship of Trump will never cease to be wild to me. THIS is the guy people are salivating over?
29.
Not only do they work you to the bone in America, but you don’t even get any real appreciation for it.
30.
Wow, cupcakes! That’ll sure help pay the ever-increasing bills.
31.
Everything is so predatory in the US. Applying for somewhere to live shouldn’t cost money in the first place, but expecting a tip, too? That’s next-level.
32.
Offering massive incentives to join the Gestapo is also predatory as hell, and it’s disturbing to see it advertised everywhere.
33.
Besides bigots, they’re going to recruit desperate working-class people who can barely make ends meet. And then they’ll make it impossible to leave if you start to develop moral qualms.
34.
I’m starting to think the entire point of America is to squeeze its citizens of every single dime imaginable by promising them the false illusion of the American dream.
35.
No one should have to pay this much for health insurance — ESPECIALLY as insurance often only covers a portion of medical costs. But that’s America for you.
36.
“No one wants to work these days.” Actually…
38.
Why is there not more oversight on AI???
39.
Once again — why is everything in the US so predatory?
40.
Hey, at least we have a democracy!
41.
The math being off here is a pretty apt analogy for how dumb this presidency is.
44.
Censorship is real. What about the First Amendment? I guess the government only cares about the second one these days.
45.
Here in America, you can’t afford to go to the hospital unless you have a job, but the second you need to go to the hospital, you risk losing your job. Fun!
46.
AI bots are getting out of control.
47.
Once again — what happened to free speech? International students are being kicked out simply for protesting against atrocities.
48.
If nurses and receptionists were paid enough, maybe we wouldn’t have to tip them. Healthcare is SO expensive — where is that money going if not to healthcare workers???
49.
Of course, Americans’ first thought after mass deportations is how it will benefit THEM. (Spoiler alert: it won’t.)
50.
Literally everything comes back to money in the US.
51.
And finally, this is truly the bad place.
