Who can forget when Trump issued an executive order renaming landmarks, including changing the Gulf of Mexico to the “Gulf of America” and Denali to “Mount McKinley.”
In addition to signing the executive order, Trump also declared Feb. 9, 2025 as “Gulf of America Day,” for whatever reason. While the executive order only requires federal agencies to adopt the new names, some US maps and businesses have obliged by the change. Others, including AP News, have refuted the change, much to Trump’s displeasure.
