“I worked at a department store from 1989 to 1992, and the Hypercolor clothing had a big launch when it came out. We had TVs in the store, and normally we would play MTV videos that the associates recorded at home, but during the launch, we had to play a VHS tape that showed young models cavorting around in Hypercolor clothing while this droning male voice in the background repeated, over and over, ‘Hypercolor clothing changes color with heat.’ We had to listen to it for HOURS. Yeah, that tape lasted about a week before it was mysteriously ‘broken’ and we were back to playing our videos, LOL.”
