“I saw a shadow person in my closet when I was a kid. It was an old farmhouse, and my room was the only one with a closet because that was where the attic access was. It didn’t have a door, so it was a gaping dark hole in the room at night. One night, I was not sleeping and was in my bed, playing quietly, when I looked up and saw a man-shaped shadow with red eyes. It was darker than the darkness of the closet so that I could see its perfect outline. I ran for my life when it put its hand on the wall as if it was looking for the light switch.”
“The call lights in the assisted living facility I worked in used to go off in empty rooms sometimes. They were the old-fashioned kind with a string that had to be physically pulled to activate. Then, they had to be flipped up by one of us to turn them back off. It was especially fun on the second floor, which was only used for storage, because you’d be going into a dark room full of covered furniture and other odd shapes to flip the switch.
Also, once I was sitting at home playing a game on my PC while waiting for the time to get my husband from work. We were newlyweds with one car, and he worked second shift. My cat was lying on the desk, suddenly fuzzed up, and ran off as something spooked him right about the time I got the feeling someone was staring intently over my shoulder. It was so eerie that I got up and left the house way too early. Whatever it was, it definitely was not friendly.”
