“The first time I caught my ex cheating was when he had me pick the person up. He said she was a ‘cousin’ and they were going to hang out. Knowing he planned to cheat and/or already cheated, I acted like I didn’t know what was happening and went on about my day. Too stunned to feel pain and hurt, I was unable to express my emotions. My phone rang, and it was his number on my screen. Thinking it was him, I picked up. Turns out the girl called me from his phone, asking me if I wanted to hang out with them. My first emotion was anger, and it was expressed in an eerie, calm manner with a low voice and laugh.”
“I kept talking in circles, repeating the same question before I told her that I knew she slept with him. I knew he put her up to to calling me asking an even more stupid question, and she was stupid for going through with it. I didn’t talk to him for two weeks until his mother called me when she needed help with something.
During our conversation, she told me she knew what happened, that he cheated, and she apologized for his actions. When I dropped her off at home, I walked into the house, and as I was about to leave, I felt someone’s hands behind me. It was him, excited to see me with a smile on his face.
In a cold tone, I politely explained that I didn’t care if he wanted to see me and that I knew he cheated. I also said we had nothing to talk about but the fact that he cheated and lied to me. He admitted it in not so many words, and I took him back.
He cheated again several years later, which I found out about on social media. When I confronted him, he said it was a ‘social media game’ where you pretend to be in a relationship with someone when you’re not. At that point, I gave him my ring back. Cheat on me once, shame on you. Cheat on me twice and post it on social media, then GET OUT.”
