I think we all have those scenes that feel like the sexiest things we’ve ever seen on screen — and sometimes, they don’t even involve touching. So I pulled together a list of the sexiest non-sex scenes that have ever graced our screens. Buckle up, hold your breath — it’s about to get hot in here.

I have to say, I audibly screamed watching this scene. I truly didn’t think a teen drama about choosing between two brothers would ruin this married, almost-30 girl’s summer…but here we are. And honestly, I don’t care what anyone says: If you’re not Team Conrad, you’re wrong. This whole scene — aside from the cheesy “which peach tastes better” metaphor — had me tingling. Was it Conrad lifting his shirt? Sacrificing a perfectly white tee? Or maybe the way he touched Belly’s lips while adoringly gazing at her, only a foot away? Whatever it was, I was in absolute shambles. I rewound it a few times, forced my husband to sit through it on the fifth watch, and then casually asked, “What do you think of the name Conrad for a baby?” He said, “No!”

The “Don’t say a word” scene from Gilmore Girls
I know, I know — Jess isn’t actually a good boyfriend to Rory. He’s emotionally immature, distant, manipulative, and constantly playing games. But sometimes you have to date a bad boy to realize what you really deserve. And the ride before the exit? Exhilarating. This abrupt scene where Jess returns to Stars Hollow and Rory, completely overwhelmed, leaps forward to kiss him — ultimately cheating on Dean — is one of my favourite moments in their love story. Not the cheating. Obviously, she immediately regrets it. But this is somehow so simple yet ridiculously hot. Everything about this screams passion of the heart, and even on the tenth rewatch, it still gets my pulse racing.

The “hand flex” scene from Pride and Prejudice (2005)
This iconic, uber-PG moment is somehow one of the sexiest scenes to ever grace a screen. And honestly, Pride & Prejudice is stacked with heart-stopping moments: their dance where everyone else in the ballroom fades away, the rain-soaked “I love you most ardently” confession, the unexpected reunion at Pemberley, the long walk through the field at sunrise, and of course, the soft repetition of “Mrs. Darcy, Mrs. Darcy, Mrs. Darcy.” But for me, this one takes the cake. Just the briefest brush of a hand — through the most rigid social expectations — sends Mr. Darcy spiralling so hard he has to immediately leave and flex the hand that touched Elizabeth. My heart has melted all over the floor. Send help.

The “We’re not having sex” scene from Fleabag
This season of television reaches a brilliance beyond measure. Fleabag is already unique and endlessly compelling — but throw in a forbidden love story between a girl and a priest, and it’s game over. Their chemistry is off the charts, with scene after scene that makes you want to scream, “Just get a different job!” (even though, yes, I know it’s not that easy). The way they look at each other alone makes me want them to toss aside everything they believe in just to be together. And this scene alone makes my heart flutter like I’m seventeen again.

The “I can fix that” scene from Holes
I just rewatched Holes this weekend for the first time since I was a kid, and I have to say: It holds up. When I was twelve, I thought Sam was sweet — but now that I’m a grown-ass woman, all I can think is, What else can Sam fix? Because if I were Kathryn, I’d have him fixing everything, including my clothes that, for some reason, just keep falling off. Their love story is full of longing, but the scene where she’s crying and he says, “I can fix that,” had me gasping with delight. Sam, please — come fix me.

The “I would kiss you right now if I could” scene from Call Me By Your Name
Another banger with truly unmatched chemistry. To be fair, I think Timothée Chalamet could have chemistry with a toaster oven — the man could make me believe the sky is red. But everything about this film is pure cinematic magic. The secret kisses, the forbidden moments, the unbearable build-up — it’s both exhilarating and excruciating. And when Oliver suddenly corners Elio and says he could kiss him right then and there…it gives me full-body shivers. Every detail of their attraction is almost too satisfying to watch. And the most PG of moments are unbelievably hot.

The “Read something” scene from Bridget Jones Diary
When I was a teen, I thought Mark Darcy was a little too quiet and reserved for my taste. But now, rewatching as an adult, I see how the mystery of him is so captivating. The last few sequences of this film are all perfection: his random appearance outside Bridget’s London apartment on a snowy day, that final kiss in the street while she’s in her underwear and he wraps his coat around her. But for some reason, the lead-up to the ending might be my favourite. The moment they step into the apartment, all he can do is stare at her, desperate to be close, and the attraction is so palpable it makes you want to squirm with excitement. And Bridget making him wait only heightens the tension. To me, it’s the hottest part. Well, except when Bridget says, “Wait a minute. Nice boys don’t kiss like that,” and Mark suavely responds, “Yes, they fucking do.” I’m sweating.

The “Stella!” scene from A Streetcar Named Desire
This is passion! Screaming at someone’s window until your love finally comes out. Stella’s slow walk down the steps as he falls to his knees, his shirt all ripped up. Then their embrace — her sliding down his back, their bodies tangled together, swearing they’ll never leave each other. They barely even touch lips, and yet it’s one of the most sensual, electric scenes ever put on screen. That’s exactly why it’s so iconic. Nothing compares.

The “As you wish” scene from The Princess Bride
It’s funny because “As you wish” is basically just “Sure, whatever you want, have it your way” — but make it romantic and sexy. The fact that Buttercup literally throws herself down a very steep hill to reunite with her long-lost love, Westley, is the pinnacle of romance. And when he rushes to her at the bottom and they embrace, it makes me flush every time. I know they were technically on the run, but I will forever wish they’d squeezed in a long-overdue makeout session — because that foreplay is absolute fire.

This is another couple whose chemistry is so explosive, you honestly have to prepare yourself to be on the verge of fainting every time they’re on screen — that’s how often they leave you breathless. But this one scene, when they take a school trip to Paris before Nick heads off to uni, is packed with those tense almost-moments. And when they admit they wish they could share a room, well, I don’t think I’ve been that giddy over an on-screen romance in ages. I’ve read all the graphic novels, so I know what happens — and still, every single scene gets me.

Growing up, this was one of those movies I watched on repeat more times than I could count. And as a kid, I definitely didn’t catch the innuendo in this scene. But now? Let’s just say I wouldn’t mind a masked man taking off my clothes with a sword and threatening to make me scream. Of course, the second I actually say that out loud, it goes from “sexy fantasy” to “wow, maybe I should book therapy twice this week.”

Everything about this film drips romance. I don’t think I’ve ever wanted to take up painting more in my life. At this point, just seeing a paintbrush makes me blush. (Kidding… but also, not really.) When people say, “undressing someone with their eyes,” this scene is the definition. Jay and Daisy’s glances are relentlessly brimming with passion; you can barely catch your breath. And that simple line — “I am certainly glad to see you again” — somehow makes me both teary-eyed and red hot. But hey, I get it. Give me a seaside backdrop and a room overflowing with flowers, and honestly, I’d be happy to see anyone. I want them to run away together and leave everything behind. But if you’ve read this tragic tale, you know — not every love story has a happy ending.

The “phone sharing” scene from It’s a Wonderful Life
Everything about this scene is drenched in palpable tension. They can barely get a word out, stuttering through every line. The way George stares at Mary and leans in closer and closer is absolutely captivating. The attraction builds until it bursts — George grabbing her, shouting, while she crumbles into tears before they finally embrace. There’s so much desire wrapped into this moment that you can’t call it anything other than crazed passion on the brink of errupting. It’s messy. It’s electric. It’s delicious.

It’s deeply satisfying, yet somehow you’re always left wanting more of their forbidden love. And this scene — the whispered “I love you,” the charged glances, the closed eyes at the subtlest touch — is scorching. It’s pure heat, built entirely on a yearning that never feels fully quenched.

The “Strong prolonged eye-contect” scene from Someone Great
This film is so underrated. I laugh, I cry, I get completely frustrated with their choices while also totally understanding them. Their chemistry is unmatched! I admit, LaKeith Stanfield is one of my celeb crushes, so honestly, to me, anything he does is hot. But their meet-cute has sexual tension so palpable, you’d need a knife to cut it. It leaves you giddy and curious to see their love story unravel. And from this scene alone, you can guess…it’s sizzling from the very first moment.
