How do you perfectly hard-boil an egg?
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve searched that on the Internet. In fact, any time I am using any ingredients, I’ll go right to the web to find out the “best” way to store them, prepare them, and keep them for as long as possible.
Since becoming an adult and being the primary feeder of myself, I’ve come across many tips. However, some of them are pretty strange. Here are just a few of the stranger ones; you can find my personal egg technique at the end.
1.
Keep raw ginger in the freezer.
2.
“Velveting” meat helps enhance stir-fry dishes.
3.
Keep potatoes and onions far away from each other.
4.
A bay leaf a day keeps the pests away.
5.
Those fresh herbs can have a longer, fuller life.
6.
Never let a spicy pepper get its revenge.
7.
That homemade guacamole can last more than a day.
8.
Now that’s a spicy… strawberry!?
9.
Give your raw onions a bath.
10.
This flour needs a little extra something.
11.
This pork needs some chopping!
12.
Don’t hog the bacon grease.
13.
Likewise, save the vegetable water.
14.
Now that’s an… apple-y meatball?!
15.
The cake with all the fizz.
And, as promised, my hard-boiled egg technique.
