“I ghosted one of my best friends from high school. I loved her like a sister, and we had a lot of fun, but she was a pathological liar and constantly needed attention. If I was talking about something important or serious or even telling a story, a lot of times she would steer the convo back to her. She would also make up stories to go along with the topic we’re talking about, which I began to notice when she started contradicting something she said previously or would make up details in stories where I was with her. Honestly, it was a bit exhausting, but she really was a good friend and wasn’t actively trying to be toxic.”
“We grew apart in college, but still tried talking whenever we could. However, the final straw was when my mom passed away from cancer. She knew how close I was with my family and knew about my mom’s diagnosis, but never reached out in any form. She later tagged me on Instagram for a giveaway she wanted to enter. I will never forget that. Cut off contact swiftly.”
