There’s this alternate reality in Hollywood Land that I like to imagine, where some of our favourite characters were played by completely different actors. Cause the truth is, many roles are offered to big names…only for them to turn them down, whether for personal reasons or scheduling conflicts. While we get used to the final casting, hearing who was originally considered makes it impossible not to imagine what could have been.
So while every actor truly made these roles unforgettable, let’s take a look at the original choices who could’ve become the faces of these iconic films…and imagine the alternate reality we might have been living in. Take a look:
3.
Sean Connery as Gandalf in The Lord of the Rings
4.
Rachel McAdams as Andy Sachs in The Devil Wears Prada
5.
Al Pacino as Han Solo in Star Wars
6.
Emma Watson as Mia Dolan in La La Land
7.
Viggo Mortensen as Wolverine in X-Men
8.
Christina Applegate as Elle Woods in Legally Blonde
9.
Will Smith as Neo in The Matrix
10.
Tom Selleck as Indiana Jones in Raiders of the Lost Ark
11.
Amanda Seyfried as Gamora in Guardians of the Galaxy
12.
Halle Berry as Annie Porter in Speed
13.
James Marsden in Magic Mike
14.
Katie Holmes as Kat Stratford in 10 Things I Hate About You
15.
And lastly: Jennifer Hudson as Precious in Precious
What about you? Do any of these make you wish the actors had taken the roles? Tell me all about it in the comments. Personally, I would’ve loved to see Tom Selleck as Indiana Jones. Honestly, though, I’d be happy to see that mustache anywhere.
