“I recently saw a video about the social consequences of expressing emotion (men and women are both punished for it, just differently), and unsurprisingly, a large number of people said that they would feel uncomfortable if their male partner was crying. Which is so heartbreaking to me because if you see somebody that you allegedly love and care about, and they’re crying, how is your first response to be grossed out?
